Remember Joey’s tailor on Friends, the one he’d been going to his entire life that he recommended to Chandler only to learn after Chandler’s first unfortunate visit to the man that the way he fondles customer’s private parts isn’t normal? It would appear that man has a real-life counterpart, and he’s big on Instagram.

Sam’s Tailor is a Hong Kong-based tailor with almost 400,000 followers, who describes himself as “famous worldwide” with a “clientele seemingly culled from the pages of the International Who's Who.” Good for him!

Despite his impressive-sounding pedigree, his videos are odd, to say the least. In one, he manhandles a shorter white man, calling him “young white boy” and exclaiming, “I thought they made white people big. What happened to this guy?” Before following it up with, “Let’s hope he’s big down here,” and tapping his crotch with a coat hanger for good measure.

He proceeds to grab his head and squeeze his face, pressing their heads close together and sniffing him, while also showing off his handiwork to the camera. It’s one of the most uncomfortable tailor videos I’ve ever seen, and that’s before he moves his hands down to the guy’s ass, grabs himself a handful and smacks it.

A lot of bizarre things online can be explained away as fetish content, leading people to ask if this was one such example, but he really is part of a dynasty of Hong Kong-based tailors who have worked with royalty, politicians and celebrities.

I guess in this day and age, simply being good at your job isn’t enough if you want to get eyes on your content. A much quicker route to viral success is if there’s something weird or outrageous that you can use to farm engagement. I guess for this guy, it’s manhandling his customers to within an inch of their lives while also insulting them.
