Pilot Incredibly Walks Away After Crashing WWII Nazi Plane on California Highway 101

A replica World War II-era plane crashed on U.S. 101 outside of Agoura Hills, California after a catastrophic failure caused an emergency landing attempt on October 23, 2018. While the plane successfully landed on the highway, one of its wings clipped the divider causing the plane to crash and catch fire. The pilot was safely extracted from the wreckage and only suffered singed hair from the resulting fire according to KTLA Los Angeles.

While not an actual Nazi aircraft, the plane is painted with cross-like markings on its wings known as the Balkenkreuz, which were used on Nazi warplanes and vehicles during WWII. The plane has been identified as a T-6 Texan and was used by a non-profit called the Condor Squadron for air shows, parades, and memorial services.

No other people or cars were involved in the accident.
