Astronaut in outer space.

If you could ask an astronaut who has been to outer space any question, what would it be? And we're not talking about the Flat Earther who shot himself up on a rocket this week, either. We're talking real space explorers who have been to low-earth orbit and beyond.

Well, today is your lucky day. In a brand new video NASA astronauts Jeffrey Hoffman, Chris Hadfield, Jerry Linenger, Leland Melvin, Mae C. Jemison, Mike Massimino and Nicole Stott decided to answer 50 of "the most googled space questions" to help offer some scientific perspective.

Admittedly, many of the space questions were downright simple and the sort of thing you learn from the back of a cereal box, but a few were enlightening. For that reason, we recommend watching the video below:

Although there was a lot of talking over one another, there were some legitimate questions. Below are some of the highlights:

Can you see the Great Wall of China from space? No.

Why is Mars red? Iron oxide.

How do you become an astronaut? You get lucky (and get a bachelor's degree, perform a long-duration astronaut physical exam, fly a jet for three years or related experience, and two years training).

Can you shot a gun in space? Sure, why not.

How long does it take to get to Mars? Six to nine months with current technology.
