Super Smash Bros. Switch.

Just when we thought Nintendo had run out of steam, it has made one of the biggest announcements we've seen this year. Four words: Super Smash Bros. Switch.

During today's Nintendo Direct the company made the announcement that a Super Smash Bros. game is coming to the Nintendo Switch. And not just eventually, either. It's scheduled to debut later this year in timely fashion.

The game's launch trailer showed that for the first time ever the series wil include characters from Splatoon. Other than that, it's only purpose was to show that the game exists. We have no idea what the game will look like, for now.

The first implication here is that the Switch got a new exclusive release for 2018. Previously, the year was as dry as the Sierra Desert, with only a couple known releases peppered across a 12-year release map. Now we know we have something to look forward to playing on the new console.

Secondly, this means that the Switch is getting another top-tier local multiplayer game. The portability of the console will be the perfect match for Super Smash Bros., which has been regarded by many as one of the best games to play when friends (and enemies) are over.

Other Switch games coming out this year include Yoshi, Kirby Star Allies, Mario Tennis Aces, Project Octopath Traveler, and a few other games that nobody has ever heard of.
