One very unlucky construction worker took the old adage of going “above and beyond” for one’s job a little too literally, finding himself dangling 30 stories above the ground in a high-rise incident gone wrong.

In a now-viral video, the Canadian worker found himself soaring hundreds of feet above the Toronto skyline after accidentally getting caught up in a tagline while loading materials onto a crane.

“Oh my God, oh my God, hang on!” said what appeared to be one of his coworkers, the man screaming as he dangled in the air.

Meanwhile, another colleague encouraged him to stay calm.

“Just let your hard hat fall, bro!” yelled another worker.

But even with this scary sight, it appears this story of OSHA-related woe (or whatever the Canadian version of OSHA happens to be) comes with a relatively happy ending.

“Fortunately, he was safely lowered to the work surface and not seriously injured,” PCL Constructors Canada, who hired the worker in question, said in a statement. “The safety of all workers and the community is our top priority. We are working with all appropriate authorities and the incident is currently under investigation.”

We can only hope this high-flying employee got one hell of a raise — and a promotion to ground support — after surviving this harrowing incident.
