For almost as long as there's been Counter-Strike there's been de_dust2. The map has remained the game's most popular since release, to a point where the community has learned to hate it.
Thankfully, a major revamp is just weeks away.

As hinted a few months ago, a new version of de_dust2 is coming. And today, we finally got an image teaser.

de_dust2 originally released as part of Counter-Strike's v1.1 update, which launched in March 2001. Prior, de_cbble was considered the first successor to de_dust. In-fact, it was almost called de_dust3 as a result.
The map has seen two major revisions since then, one for Counter-Strike: Source and the other for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
