pokemon crown tundra dlc

Pokémon Sword and Shield weren’t some of my favorite games in the franchise.

However, the DLC content that followed has been encouraging, and the newest drop—Crown Tundra, released October 22ndis the high point of making the game better.

So for anyone wondering what this latest DLC offers, here's a complete breakdown.

The best part of the new region added with this release is that it feels truly adventurous. So many of the recent Pokémon releases have felt like tours that guide you through the game in a way that's not really fun. The last time I got lost in a Pokémon game was Diamond and Pearl.

That's completely changed with this region. I love exploring the Crown Tundra and getting lost. There are actual caves with branching paths, which is something I can’t say about the past few generations of the series.

While Pokémon Sword and Shield’s original release wasn’t, the Crown Tundra is decidedly different. It looks nice and there are some fun locales to see. The art style is finally taking shape and is something that could look great if it continues to be worked on.

Much like the first DLC, there isn’t much of a story. You explore the region and complete some tasks, bu the dialogue is interesting enough to remain enjoyable.

Crown Tundra is the best product in the Pokémon Sword and Shield package by far.

With this DLC, Pokémon has returned to being a real adventure. You can explore, get lost, and see some fun place. Hopefully future releases keep this quality up.
