Destiny 2: Beyond Light’s Launch; Season of the Hunt

Bungie recently released a ton of information about Destiny 2’s latest expansion, Beyond Light, and what sort of content players can expect on November 10th.

Here's our complete breakdown of everything known right now.

(Note: Beyond Light expansion costs $40 and Season of the Hunt pass costs $10.)

Destiny 2: Beyond Light’s Launch; Season of the Hunt

Beyond Light introduces Statis, a new, Darkness-themed class, where Guardians can use its icy power to freeze and shatter enemies. We’ll get to explore Europa, an icy hellscape full of mystery, as well as dive deeper into the Cosmodrome, a beloved area from the original Destiny.

There will also be an Exotic exclusive to the DLC: Salvation’s Grip, a Grenade Launcher, which will hopefully be as good as its spiritual predecessor, Witherhoard.

The Season of the Hunt begins on that same day, where players can earn rewards and level up their Artifact item (as was the case with previous Seasons.)

The Season events will start the week after, where players will progress through a seasonal story thread that will reveal more about the mysterious Europa and the powers that lie within.

We’ll also be able to embark on “Empire Hunts” and “Wrathborn Hunts” which sound similar to Shadowkeep’s Nightmare Hunts.

For players who don’t want to purchase the Season Pass, there will still be plenty of content available, including the new destinations, new items, and a brand new strike.

Below, you can see everything Bungie’s prepared for players in this Season of the Hunt calendar:

Outside of exploring Europa, fans of the Destiny series will no doubt be chomping at the bit to see all the new Exotic items that will come with Beyond Light.

Among the returning Exotics will be Hawkmoon (a personal favorite Hand Cannon) and No Time to Explain (Pulse Rifle).

The new Exotics are generally Statis-themed and focus on using the new classes’ powers like the Titan Exotic Icefall Mantle.

But where there’s ice, there’s always fire to melt it.

Guardians can wield The Lament, a new Solar Exotic sword that is a fiery chainsaw on a stick used to absolutely destroy enemies (and slice through Barrier Champions).

It might be one of the coolest weapons ever conceived in a video game (seriously).
