Southern Californians recently found themselves at the crossroads of a tropical storm and earthquake this weekend after a 5.1 magnitude quake hit the region as Hurricane Hilary made landfall.

Though the hurricane weakened to a tropical storm before hitting the usually dry area, the damage was still tangible, resulting in mudslides, rock slides and even prompting Governor Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency, with flash flood warnings still in effect until Monday morning.

While experts still warn that the downgraded storm may still cause serious damage, the sights have been harrowing thus far, images several captured on social media. From drowned stadiums to flooded deserts, here are the craziest sights from Hurricane Hilary.
