TikTokers: please stop filming yourself committing crimes.

Recently, a user on TikTok decided to try a “hilarious” prank that involved Border Patrol. What was that prank, you ask? Why, smoking weed while trying to cross the border of course!

The TikToker in question is a guy called TreyyDaMenace, who appears to be trying to make a name for himself on TikTok and YouTube. He’s previously done such hysterical things as the “Human Smuggling Prank on Border Patrol,” which involved trying to convince border guards that he’s smuggling someone into Mexico. I know, comedy gold!

Now, he’s taken it further. In a follow-up video, he attempts to cross the border after fully hotboxing his car.

For context, weed is illegal in Texas. You also cannot bring weed into Mexico. These two things come together to create what may be one of the dumbest “pranks” of all time.

The clip that Trey posted on his TikTok page provides little information about what’s happening. In the video, it looks as though Trey and his friends merely hotboxed a car and tried to cross the border into Mexico. I probably don’t need to say this, but this is a bad idea.

However, the video on his YouTube channel tells the whole story. In reality, Trey and his friends were smoking THCa weed, which is legal in Texas. After explaining this to the border patrol, they were let go.

Quite frankly, they’re lucky they found the one border patrol officer patient enough to hear them out while they explained the nuances of modern weed legislation. If it were anyone else, it’s possible they could have ended up in a jail cell. Then again, that would only give them more content.
