In a recent appearance on the podcast Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, actress Gabrielle Union stated that in her first marriage to ex-husband and former Broncos and Jaguars running back Chris Howard, she was making the money in the relationship and so she felt like she was allowed to cheat.

By the time the two had married in 2001, Howard's NFL playing career had already come to an end. Union on the other hand was a rising star, and had just completed blockbuster films such as 10 Things I Hate about You and Bring It On.

Her statement immediately threw the internet into a tizzy. It's no secret that Union is now married to former Miami Heat star Dwayne Wayde. Comments began flooding the couple's most recent Instagram post, and let's just say they were less than understanding.

Before we jump on our high horses, let's not pretend like men haven't felt this way for hundreds of years. It's always been 'The bread-winner gets to do whatever they want.' For the longest time who were the bread-winners? Men. The whole idea of getting married for tax purposes stems from the fact that men were making more money than their wives.

So it's okay if a man cheats on his wife, and the excuse we hide behind is that he's the money-maker. But when the shoe is on the other foot, and the wife is the paying the bills, we get up in arms when she cheats? Make it make sense.
