Mosley High School in Bay County, Florida has been celebrating Homecoming for over 50 years now with the beautiful tradition of a school-wide bonfire. On the night of October 5th, said tradition took an explosive turn, and it all got caught on video


Instead of igniting like a nice, tame little campfire, the enormous pile of kindling and wood just exploded. The fire was reportedly put out immediately and luckily nobody was injured in the blast. But you gotta admit, it did look pretty damn cool.

Unfortunately for Mosley’s underclassmen, the school has decided to discontinue the bombastic tradition due to the conflagration. They also sent out a heartfelt apology to the families of the student body. Anyway, check out some more angles of the fireball below:
