You gotta love it when a story ends on a sweet note. So is the case for Keke Palmer and her ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson and their summer of shade.

Last month, Palmer attended R&B singer, Usher’s Las Vegas residency show. Palmer, in her black corset under a mesh dress, was serenaded by Usher during a bit where Usher brings a fan onstage.

Jackson responded to the video saying “It’s the outfit tho..you a mom.”

The internet was then in a firestorm of people defending Keke Palmer’s honor. Palmer has posted more photos of the outfit but has largely been silent throughout the whole ordeal. Until now.

Remember this is Keke “Keep a Job” Palmer, fans gave her that name because she can turn any negative attention into a bag-making opportunity.

Palmer was featured in Usher’s new music video for his song “Boyfriend.” The song includes the lyrics; “Somebody said that your boyfriend’s looking for me/That’s cool/Well he should know I'm pretty easy to find, just look for me wherever he sees you.”

In the video, Keke and her friends are getting ready for a night out in Las Vegas. But in the middle, she trades her baddie outfit and dons Usher cosplay. She starts getting down in the signature Usher sunglasses, white shirt, leather jacket, and chain combo like it’s 2003.

At the end of the video, Palmer wakes up in her hotel room and checks her phone. She sees that it’s late and she slept through the show. “****, I’m so tired. I am a mother, after all,” she winks to the camera.

The tongue-in-cheek video has over 1.8 million views and fans are calling this Palmer’s victory in the “idgaf” war. But of course, some people find Palmer’s stunt in bad taste.

“men were on this app writing think pieces meanwhile keke got in her stud bag and cosplayed usher rather than being the video vixen… love her,” says @blazinwithbri.

“I just know Keke’s baby daddy is so embarrassed. He was so concerned about her pushing up on Usher, whole time she wanted to BE Usher,” responded @ashyrue.

Palmer and Usher have created a satisfyingly petty ending to this summer’s “mom-shaming” discourse.
