According to fertility doctor Mona Dahiya, sperm cramps are the unofficial term used to describe discomfort or pain experienced by men during or after ejaculation. Sperm cramps are not to be confused with epididymal hypertension, also known as blue balls which can occur during sexual arousal but without ejaculation.

Many men were unaware of sperm cramps, but thanks to Twitter user, albert12798 the shitposting started to spread like wildfire.

According to Dr. Dahiya, sperm cramps don’t necessarily indicate a medical emergency. However, an underlying condition could exist if a man experiences consistent pain during or after ejaculation. Again, it is crucial to see a doctor if you are consistently experiencing these kinds of sperm cramps.

Most importantly, there are a few ways to treat sperm cramps depending on the severity. The most obvious is relaxation. Meditation and deep breathing are known to decrease stress which can lead to cramps. Another method is staying hydrated. If conditions worsen, physical therapy is an option, but you should seek medical help. Shitposting aside, sperm cramps are very real.
