Loot box DLC is one of the hottest topics in gaming right now. Its prevalence in 2017's releases, from Forza Motorsport 7 to Middle-earth: Shadow of War, has caused serious commotion among gamers who increasingly feel like they're being taken advantage of.

The problem is that there's content essentially locked behind microtransaction barriers, even though these games are already a hefty $59.99. The developers require you to spend extra in order to shortcut inconvenient grinds, not too dissimilar from free-to-play mobile games.

Thankfully, in the case of Middle-earth: Shadow of War there's a solution.

An unofficial trainer has released that allows PC gamers to manually add Silver Coins to their repository. This currency can then be used to purchase as many loot boxes as they'd like, which normally cost real-world money.

A lot of gamers are enthusiastic of the idea of being able to "stick it" to the creators of the game, which in this case are developer Monolith Productions and publisher Warner Bros.

The only problem is this is only available for PC, so on PS4 and Xbox One, where there are the most players, there's no option for getting around the DLC.
