japanese ball - beach washed up

A mysterious metal ball has washed ashore on Enshu beach in Hamamatsu city, Japan. At 1.5 meters in diameter, the object alarmed both the public and local authorities, with the latter scrambling a bomb squad to investigate. Initial fears that a stray mine had washed ashore were alleviated when x-rays showed the ball to be hollow.

The ball's rusted appearance led officials to believe that it was composed of iron, and the two handles on either side would indicate that it is normally attached to something else. The Japanese armed forces are still examining the object.

This incident comes on the heels of the United States shooting down three UAPs and a Chinese spy balloon, leading to international hypersensitivity towards unknown objects. Social media speculation that this object is another spy balloon or even extra-terrestrial in origin is completely unfounded.

The buoyancy of this object indicates that it was likely some sort of buoy, strapped to other similar objects through its handles. This is just another example of the exhaustive over-sensationalism of unidentified objects. This one wasn't even flying.
