While most developers choose to deal with cheaters by simply banning them, one developer is taking it to another level.

Epic Games, the creator of Gears of War and Unreal Tournament, is fed up with cheaters in its new game, Fortnite. It has decided to take legal action against them that could cost the supposed cheaters a whole lot of money.

Both individuals were reportedly banned multiple times, but came back by registering new accounts. In addition, they developed and potentially even sold cheats online, which Epic Games considers damaging to the game experience for others.

There are already two complaints filed in North Carolina's federal court, and both argue that the named defendants, Mr. Broom and Mr. Vraspir, violated the EULA and ToS by cheating.

The action came just a week after the following statement from the developer:

We are constantly working against both the cheaters themselves and the cheat providers. And it’s ongoing, we’re exploring every measure to ensure these cheaters are removed and stay removed from Fortnite Battle Royale and the Epic ecosystem.

Apparently it isn't kidding around. The copyright infringement charge subjects both defendants to up to $150,000 in damages, or 47,318 Buritto Supremes at Taco Bell.

Blizzard Entertainment won a $8 million judgement against an Overwatch cheat maker back in April, and other similar cases have usually ended with the plaintiff walking away with a big W. This would suggest that the Fortnite cheaters have reason to start crying.

Fortnite recently celebrated crossing 10 million total player accounts, most of which are thanks to its recent addition of the Battle Royale game mode.
