Oregon gas vr training

It's now been a week since Oregonians have had to start pumping their own gas. Some have spent time learning the art of refueling, while others have been losing their minds.

For those intimidated by the thought of pumping gas, there's a solution. Virtual reality company PIXO has created a simulation called VR Gas Pump Training where people can practice pumping gas without having to worry about lighting themselves on fire or getting hit by a 35lb tire.

In a blog post by the company it says:

At our virtual gas pump, you will face many dangers, so you can practice safely avoiding them. Randomized scenarios will add re-play-ability and prepare you for the most common dangers of gas-pumping, including:

Avoiding spillage, and what to do when it inevitably occurs. (Visit the virtual dry cleaner!)

Using the pump to ward off attackers who may accost you while you pump your own gas.

Supervising children inside the car AND pumping your own gas—at the same time!

Despite being light-hearted it's not a joke. In fact, the company's CEO, Sean Hurwitz said the following:

The value of virtual reality training, such as PIXO’s, is that it exposes participants to immersive experiences without putting them in any danger. Our VR training modules are so realistic, users will feel like they’re really at the pump, so they can practice making good decisions under pressure, without the dangers of real-life gas pumping.

Apparently the company is able to provide training for individuals, groups, and even companies. It might sound nuts, but given how dangerous flammable gas is in the hands of morons, it's probably a good safety measure.
