As the makers of TERA and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Bluehole Studio has quite the track record. It not only knows how to make games that lots of people play, but also games that make a lot of money.

Earlier in the year it was revealed that it's currently hard at work on a new MMORPG. The project has required tens of millions of dollars of investment, as well as work from more than 300 employees and contractors. It isn't often we see big MMORPG releases like this anymore, so gamers have been excited to find out what exactly it'll be.

As we learned today, that game is called Ascent: Infinite Realm. It's definitely not the catchiest name. Actually, you could say it's pretty darn generic.

And really, generic is exactly what we're looking at here. As shown in its five minute debut trailer, Ascent: Infinite Realm is a visually impressive game, but it looks like the sort of thing we've seen time and time again. If you put it side-by-side with games like Aion and ArcheAge, you'd have trouble spotting the difference.

The only thing gamers hate more than generic games is bad FPS, and unfortunately this game has both. The trailer runs at a lousy 15 to 24 FPS most of the time, which is really alarming when you consider that PCs used for rendering trailer gameplay usually have the best hardware available. So, it doesn't come as much of surprise that reception hasn't been great. Just a few hours after its announcement,  the YouTube video has far more dislikes than likes, and has been bombarded comments that are pretty darn hilarious if you aren't someone working on the game. Below are a few examples:

There are plenty of other high quality comments on the YouTube video.

This game was clearly very expensive to make, so we could be looking at a significant loss here for Bluehole Studio if it isn't able to persuade gamers that the game is worth playing.
