Despite their portrayal as quiet, wholesome country folk,  the Amish are experts at more than just churning butter, riding in horse-drawn buggies, and serving as the inspiration for what is arguably Weird Al Yankovitch’s best song — they also know how to fucking party.

Earlier this month, Amish influencer Johnny Detweiler took to TikTok to offer his 111,000 followers a glimpse at how the Amish get down,  a process that like all the best things in life, involves a barn, bonnets and a whole lot of Twisted Tea.

Alongside asking how Rumspringa is going – “Amish Project X,” joked @mulletcult – and threatening to snitch on their gathering – “Im [sic] telling Jebediah,” quipped @stehfehn – several commenters were amused by just how hard the Aimsh can go.

“AYYY AMISH GOT THE TWEAS,” wrote @tessahmfcheran. “[Y]ou you know it’s getting really bad when the Amish ain’t Amishing,” added @soleemj.

Regardless of whether these activities were sanctioned by the Amish overlords or the result of a Rumspringa gone off the rails, to paraphrase @lunapickett3, we may not know what we “did to end up on Amish TikTok,” but as sure as cream will churn into butter, we’re “here for it.”
