Leonard Cohen was easily as well known for his poetry as he was for his music, and while he passed back in November of 2016, has a new book of poetry that was just released called The Flame: Poems Notebooks Lyrics Drawings, which includes a poem called "Kanye West Is Not Picasso."

The poem was written on March 15, 2015, which was almost two weeks after Kanye West had given another one of his trademark self-inflating speeches, this time at Oxford University. He told the class, "My goal, if I was going to do art, fine art, would have been to become Picasso or greater. That always sounds so funny to people, comparing yourself to someone in the past that has done so much, and in your life you’re not even allowed to think that you can do as much. That’s a mentality that suppresses humanity."
