At this point you're probably as tired as I am about hearing about it, but Star Wars Battlefront II has been the talk of the town. After early adopters found that the game has the kind of invasive microtransactions that you'd only expect in a low budget iPhone app, gamers exploded in outrage. While EA has since "temporarily" removed the microtransactions that sent the industry into a spiraling tangent, it appears that the damage has already been done.
According to sales data, Star Wars Battlefront II has sold well below expectation during its debut week in the UK. Figures show that sales are down 50% when compared to 2015's Star Wars Battlefront, a game with far less content and no single-player campaign. Meanwhile, physical sales are down 61%.
Although this only indicates how it's performing in one country, UK charts have a long history of being indicative of performance in the U.S., Star Wars Battlefront II's most vital territory.

Of course, considering the previous game sold over 12 million copies, this isn't the end of the world. But it is enough to make EA execs and investors alike downright uncomfortable.
Because of this, it wasn't able to claim the number one spot of the week on the UK sales chart, falling behind the now two week old Call of Duty WWII. It's also now making rounds again on social media with negative news that is riling gamers up once again.
