Everyone has a bad day at work every once in a while. When things don’t go your way, it can be tempting to just get up and leave, using what little PTO you have left to head home and kick back with whatever horrible content Netflix is producing these days.

This move is understandable. However, things get a little bit more complicated if you’re a surgeon.

Recently, a doctor in Nagpur, India was going about a normal day in the life of a surgeon. A vasectomy here, a little failed attempt at flirting with the nurses there. You know, normal surgeon stuff. But things took a turn when the doctor, Tejrang Bhalavi, requested that someone bring him tea. No one did, and so, Bhalavi left — leaving several women under anesthesia in the process.

Of course, this began a mad scramble at the hospital, first to figure out what the hell happened to Bhalavi, then to sort out who would eventually take over the surgeries. Eventually, they managed to find a doctor to do the requested surgeries, and it looks like Bhalavi might face some pretty severe punishment for his actions.

“This is a very serious matter,” the hospital’s CEO told Mint News. “If doctors are leaving such operations for the sake of tea, then action should be taken against such doctors.”

That, or the hospital really needs to just step up its tea delivery.
