Have you ever wished that more of your online orders came with extra goodies, like a free product sample or a voucher to use on your next purchase? Shein, as part of their ongoing commitment to unparalleled customer service, has answered your prayers, and is now shipping out orders that contain bonus vials of blood. Wait, what?

@anna_200.1 Just ordered dresses from SHEIN and the package came with an unidentified human blood sample #foryoupage #fyp #shein #sheinhorrorstories #cdc #biohazard ♬ original sound - Anna Marie

A Tennessee woman named Anna Marie took to TikTok last week to share the story, complete with evidence, of a recent order she received from Shein that came with an incredibly unorthodox sample. According to the video, the vial came from a testing company, but didn’t have identifying information like a patient name or associated medical clinic, which is probably for the best, HIPAA-wise.

Anna called the testing company, who told her that the situation was completely mishandled and it has no idea how this happened considering they don’t ship to residential addresses, only back and forth between their lab and doctor’s offices.

Anna also called the CDC, who is looking into it as receiving blood in your clothing order is a major biohazard, as well as the local sheriff’s department, who took the vial and will be testing it.

In a follow-up video featuring photos of her order and the vial, Anna revealed that a can of beans was inside the order as well, which just makes all of this that much stranger. Anna also shared a video in which she shared her friend Callie’s story, who received a syringe with her Shein order.

@anna_200.1 It seems like @FedEx has some explaining to do #foryoupage #blowthisupforme ♬ original sound - Anna Marie

Shein has continued to be unhelpful throughout the saga, denying responsibility until Anna spoke to a higher-up in Shein’s L.A. warehouse. Anna explained that they checked their factory footage and found footage of the person who packed her order and no incident occurred. At this point, what Anna thinks happens is that someone tampered with her package after it had left Shein’s warehouse, but that still doesn’t answer the question of why blood and why beans. Is someone trying to send a message? Is the syringe in Callie’s package connected? Should I stop pretending I’m Benoit Blanc?

In addition to the terrible PR that Shein has received from this, they’ve also lost a valued customer: Anna posted that she will “probably not be buying” from Shein in the future, as this entire saga has scared her off.

It’s all a real bloody mess.
