Just about every gaming publication announces its own game of the year every 12 months, but few hold as much weight as The Game Awards. As the gaming equivalent of the Academy Awards, it's become the premier place for gamers to get mad about why their favorite game didn't get a trophy.
This year's show will be host on December 7th, and as usual will include several categories that are decided by a mixture of judges and user voting.

Many are expecting either Super Mario Odyssey or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to win, which isn't a surprise given that they're both on the list of top 25 highest rated games ever and have more fanboys than an Apple press conference.
