U.N. Judge Gets Arrested for Having an Actual Slave

Safe to say I don’t trust her judgment.
We’d like to think that slavery doesn’t exist in the modern world. Unfortunately, that just isn’t the case; an estimated 50 million people are currently enslaved, forced to work in dangerous, often unsanitary conditions for no pay (and yes, students, they don’t get paid).
When I say this, you might have an idea of what one of those slaveholders looks like. If you do, it probably doesn’t look like U.N. judge Lydia Mugambe, and yet, that’s exactly what she was just convicted of.
According to the BBC, Mugambe was part of a scheme to bring a woman into the U.K., only to have her work as a maid and caretaker for her children while preventing her from holding other steady employment.
Mugambe claimed that she had diplomatic immunity, but the court thought otherwise, and soon, she’s going to be sentenced for “conspiring to facilitate the commission of a breach of U.K. immigration law, facilitating travel with a view to exploitation, forcing someone to work and conspiracy to intimidate a witness.”
Here’s the video of her being arrested for this crime:
