As announced this morning, Forza Motorsport 7 has a free demo available that anyone with a PC or Xbox One can download. Maybe you aren't a racing game fan, or prefer to drive like a maniac on the way home from watching Fast and the Furious. Either way, you should give it a look.
In the demo you get to jump in the driver's seat of the Porsche GT2 RS and race through Dubai Autodrome, a course that shows off the new weather effects and just how wealthy of a city Dubai is.

For gamers who enjoy racing games, Forza has become impossible to ignore during the past couple years. Developer Turn 10 Studios has stayed on a tight 24-month release schedule that has undoubtedly been exhausting for its staff, but has resulted in notable innovations.

For example, Forza Motorsport 6 featured realistic puddle physics. That might sound silly, and to some degree it is, but simulating driving in the wet is something the genre had never gotten right until then.
This time around it's about the little--yet complex-- details, with dynamic clouds and weather modeling being the key features. You can expect to see dirt soar onto the track when the wind blows, and clouds to dynamically alter the position of shadows, affecting visibility.
These are of course accompanied by a growing roster of cars, increased visual quality, and, my personal favorite, improvements to how the cockpit experience looks and feels.
Of course, Forza Motorsport isn't perfect. The physics still aren't at the level that hardcore petrol heads will be impressed by, the career mode lacks the "wow factor" that the early Gran Turismo games were known for, and the soundtrack is capable of putting you to sleep. Even then, it's likely to be the best racing game you can play this year.

Project CARS 2 and Gran Turismo Sport will compete with Forza Motorsport 7 in the coming months, but that doesn't matter for now. You probably could use a fun game to play, and Forza Motorsport 7's free demo should serve that nicely.
