On April 15th, 2019, a fire broke out at Notre Dame, collapsing the spire of the cathedral. While the cause of the fire is unclear, officials speculated that it may have been linked to renovations according to the BBC.

Earlier today the famous Notre Dame Cathedral went up in flames. While it's currently unclear what started the fire, officials think it may have been due to renovations. The 855-year-old cathedral was one of the greatest architectural achievements of the past thousand years and home to some incredible works of art.
