Welding Practice.

As many of you know, I'm in training to be a welder.   So far I've passed my MIG test, and my stick test in the flat position.   The company that is training me has been wonderful!  They're training and certifying me for free, which is something that doesn't happen very often.

So, during the past couple days I was practicing for my horizontal stick welding test by welding together coupons that they use to test people on.   Usually I just weld them up and then throw them in the scrap bin, but this time I decided to put my coupon through the bend test, to see if there were any imperfections.    Imperfections usually happen when there's extra debris or it just isn't hot enough.

I took a picture to add to this blog, and when I did, I noticed a small imperfection.   It's not significant enough to fail me, hell, you can hardly see it.   It's highlighted in the picture so you can see it.

Like I said, it's hard to see, so I zoomed in so everyone here can see what an insignificant imperfection looks like up close.

When I do the actual test, I'll make sure that it doesn't look that ugly.
