Viscera Cleanup Detail - With a score close to 9 out of 10 on Steam, VCD is a floor mopping and clean-up game with an interesting twist. Players are tasked to work and clean up the environment after a successful alien invasion has been repelled. The entire area is full of blood, and only a good employee can clean it up.2
House Flipper - The 2018 game titled House Flipper is all about becoming a one-person renovation crew. That's right, and players will be tasked to do basically the same thing as Viscera Cleanup Detail, but with a more realistic take. There's mopping, cleaning, fixing, and a lot of stuff that'll really make the players feel like a cool workers.3
Papers, Please - Never have I ever seen a game so simple, yet full of so many details and with such popularity. Papers, Please is all about players being an immigration inspector and working a daily job. The game is set in a fictional dystopian country, and the simple nature of the gameplay works in favor of this game.5
Job Simulator - The VR simulation game was released back in 2016 when the concept of Virtual Reality was at its peak of popularity. Job Simulator is a physics-based funny game that's all about working stereotypical jobs. The gameplay is incredibly fun to play, especially since it's very much VR dependant. Job Simulator is easily one of the must-play games if one owns HTC or Oculus.7
Human Resource Machine - What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of a game about visual programming? Boring, lame, trash? Human Resource Machine is none of those, and yet it's a game where the players are a corporate office worker assigned to perform tasks like moving stuff from inbox to outbox and between storage areas.10
Microsoft Flight Simulator - Microsoft's plane flying game is more or less a very good flight simulator. Here the players can work as a pilot and feel the turbulence shaking their aircraft as they explore the massive map. Flight Simulator is also very infamous for having great visuals but being one of those games that are hard to max out.11
Bee Simulator - Easily the most whacky title on the list. From far away, Bee simulator looks like yet another comedy game like Goat Simulator. Luckily, it's not. Players have to live and work as a Bee in this one. Collecting pollen and sitting on flowers may not be a human job, but they are a pretty big deal if you're a honey bee.14
Tech Support: Error Unknown - Here's a game where the players are essentially a tech support specialist new to the job. The goal is to use various computer apps to solve customer issues or go rogue and think about personal gain. The game currently holds a 7/10 on Steam with Very Positive reviews.
