At some point during your shopping trip you had to go in Hickory Farms to pretend like you were looking for cheese for a party so you could get samples.

If you were a girl, you shopped (and possibly modeled) for the Limited Too which tied directly into the Limited (they parted ways in the late 90s)

Movie tapes, posters, anything with movies could be found at Suncoast. Another fun place to waste half of your Friday night with your mall rat friends

the food courts back then were always packed and were major gathering places. You probably went to the mall by yourself starting around 10 or 11 or your mom would let you walk around alone and meet at the food court at a certain time.

You were pretty proud to be a card carrying Blockbuster member. These little blue cards were carried by kids everywhere

You loved your mall's Discovery Zone

You could literally spend an entire evening in this place with the fountains, Earthy vibes, relaxing music, and strange finds.

Guys will remember hanging in Chess King

This was the way we got our instagram/facebook worthy shots back then. They would make a 9 year old look like a 29 year old and a 50 year old look 17. We dropped a fortune for these prints and experiences

You spent your allowance on those cassettes with just a few songs and you remember going with friends so you all bought different tapes and made each other terrible copies

And this was outside or near every mall. You felt really grown up when you and your friends went to a sit down dinner here without your parents.

You still remember the Macho Nachos and cheeseeeeh enchiladas. You may have even gotten slammed with the birthday sombrero (which was a small price to pay for that free fried ice cream dessert)

Move aside Disney, the Loony Toons store was a major deal back then and everyone had their special character- Tweety, Marvin the Martian, or Taz

The ugly yellow subways with their map wallpaper and terrible lighting still burn holes in your retinas

And for special events, your parents made you dress up (because no one could go out the way we do now) and take you here and yes, they had a dress code. Your yoga pants would have been laughed out the door.
