The world has become the place it is both thanks to the advancement of technology and medicines, and because of tragedies and disasters. While we enjoy so many modern convivences that make life easier and keep us entertained, there are definitely some things we could do without.

Reality TV - Often faked and scripted, it glamorizes the worst kinds of behavior and the general public eats it up.

I'll tell you why:They render large tracts of land completely unusableThey are expensive and difficult to remove safely because there is seldom documentation of where they are placedThey are cheap, plentiful, easy to place, and deadlyThey kill/maim livestock and wild animalsThey kill/maim innocent people decades after conflicts have ended. Many times the victims are children because they can't read or don't understand warning signs

LED advertising They're too f*****g bright and now they're putting mini screens on trucks that drive around town and it pisses me off. There's already enough distraction on the road.I miss the billboards that had the rotating panels. Those were cool

40+ hour work weeks - The technological improvements should have made it so we could have a more leisurely society where we could dedicate less of our lives to pointless work, not so they could increase profits indefinitely for the business owners while we spend all our waking hours on labor that doesn’t even need doing at this point.
