An unfortunate title card reading, "you won this hole" was exploited by memers a few years ago to make crude and illicit jokes at Princess Peach's expense. And with the announcement of Mario Golf Super Rush at yesterday's Nintendo Direct, we are wondering I Nintendo learned its lesson.

Mario Golf: SuperRush was announced yesterday and already fans are chomping at the bit to get their hands on this new release. Not only does Mario look pretty cool, some fans have been reminded of an older Mario Golf meme, one that Nintendo is pretty keen on forgetting.

Remember this one? 'You Won This Hole!' is a meme from 2015, where jokesters turned this innocent title card into a not-so-innocent joke. By changing the context, or by sending it to someone you want to, you-know-with, the card took on a whole new meaning.
