The biggest shock to fans was the announcement that Chris Pratt would be voicing Mario.
While this isn't exactly the 'Italian' actor many hoped would play Mario if Pratt can channel his days on Parks and Rec, then he'll do well.
Though that didn't stop people from cracking jokes and claiming the casting was "anti-Italian".

While Pratt does have some serious comedy acting chops, his ability as a voice actor has yet to be tested as it will be for this film. We hope he nails the voice, but we aren't crossing our fingers. And of course, the internet has a lot to say about the casting.
