Oh joy, I love not being able to see if my apples are rotten.
What a great invention. If this demo footage of Walmart's VR Shopping Experience which debuted at SXSW festival in Austin in 2017, is any indication, shopping in the metaverse is going to be awful.
Apparently, the metaverse is gonna look like a really bad rendering of "Second Life" and I cannot overstate how much we hate it.
Mutual Mobile, the company that made the demo for Walmart in 2017 bills itself as an, "end-to-end development company that builds transformative digital experiences for Fortune 500s and cutting edge startups alike." But it's safe to say, this product will never mad it to market. So while this might not be our near future, you know this terrible idea will one day find a buyer.

The inexplicable Walmart "metaverse" video that you've been seeing on the timeline is a VR demo made for SXSW 2017 by a company called Mutual Mobile https://t.co/qGjs3n103Z
