Oculus founder and virtual reality designer, Palmer Luckey has created a VR headset that will actually kill you when you die in a game. No, this is not available for purchase, nor is it in beta testing of any kind. According to a Vice report Luckey stated, "At this point, it is just a piece of office art."

The device is apparently a customized Meta Quest Pro that has 3 explosive charge modules attached. Said charges are aimed directly at the forebrain which would explode as soon as the player dies in a game, obliterating the player's head.

According to Luckey, the idea of a game that could actually kill you is, "a thought-provoking reminder of unexplored avenues in game design." He also believes that his design is the first of its kind, but definitely won't be the last.

Again, this is not something available for purchase, nor will it be for the foreseeable future.
